GE NASM Project

Building the Next Generation of STEM Leaders

The partnership with GE and the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum (NASM) is designed to inspire lifelong learning through science and technology.

At Evanston Academy, our intermediate students participate in the NASM Online Explainers Program, which brings unique, real world learning experiences to students via interactive video conferencing. Evanston is one of five Cincinnati Public Schools to participate in this program. The program at CPS was piloted at Evanston Academy in 2015.

"When they explain things and show it, it just pops in my head, like 'POW!' Now I get it."

— Rajah S.

"I don't always get a good understanding with examples in class, so we get to see different examples and (later), we won't have to struggle with new things. I can say 'I know this stuff.' "

— Te'Rah J.

"When we get to higher grades, we will know what teachers are talking about, because you can always go back to think about what we know."

— Cherish P.
